First Steps

Here you will find the rules for the site as well as some general guides to help you through the process of entering the world of Cavallo.
Here is everything that you need to create your character, as well as the character archives of all our fellow residents of Cavallo.

Outskirts

War ravaged countryside awaits all those who dare cross these borders. No herd feels safe enough to reside here so it has become known to host many challenges and blood battles. Whether it be over some silly dispute between stallions or something greater such as claimed land or herd members these matters will be settled here. Prepare for what lies ahead as things may never be the same when you return.

Aptly named, the Valley of the Gods is a beautiful place. With towering mountains and crystal clear lakes it seems likely that the gods reside here. Few predators and plentiful grass make visiting here pleasant, but beware. If you stay here too long you will start to lose your purpose in life, losing sight of any goals you might have had. You will turn into a simple minded creature, living only for pleasure; many have befallen this fate before. Placed randomly into the landscape lay small tributes to the gods of the lands, each one carefully sculpted out of only the finest materials. They are said to be sacred places that are close to the hearts of the gods, maybe if you speak from the heart one just might respond to you.

Common Grounds

A beautiful river fringed with trees. In autumn and winter the river rushes over its smooth stone bed, but in the spring and summer it moves lazily around its many bends. The shores of the river are made up of a powdery substance not unlike chalk. Plenty of creatures use Chalk River as their water source; prey and predator alike. If you stay on your guard the river is a beautiful place to spend the day, but beware; at night, dangerous predators such as wild cats and wolves might make themselves known.

Crystal Cove is a long beach in the form of a horse shoe, bordered by tall, rocky cliffs. The sand is silky soft and the waves are usually calm. The water is clear and looks almost like a gem the way it sparkles in the sun. The undercurrent, however, is not to be taken lightly. If you find yourself caught in the waves you may be sucked out to sea or thrown again jagged rocks beneath the water and along parts of the waters edge. Sunsets at Crystal Cove are what it is famous for, and the beach is relatively save.

A large expanse of knee high grass, Mystic Meadows could be compared to an ocean. Quite often a breeze will pass by the meadows, leaving scents of wildflowers and sunshine in its wake. The field is like a patchwork quilt, various flowers almost obscuring the grass. The meadows are one of the safest places to be in Cavallo, and it seems as if the forces of all that it good reside here.

raith Forest. The mere name should send shivers up the spines of any who hear it. Damp and dark, this forest seems to have an aura of gloom hanging over it. Sliced through with ice cold brooks , the dense area of land isn't so much of a spooky place; more like a place of brooding and self pity. The floor of Wraith Forest is covered in moss, masking most sounds. The forest is abundant in small creatures, but larger ones tend to steer clear.

The feeling of this land is not one of good. In contrast the Mystic Meadows, Malidar Marsh seems to harbor feelings of malice and harm. This marsh is full with dead trees; their brittle branches make eerie sounds when the wind passes through. Even in daylight the marsh is creepy, but at night it is downright terrifying. Large predators like to roam the marsh, looking for prey that got caught in the patches of very deep mud.

A section of very tall mountains located on the East coast of Cavallo. A very rocky, and at times treacherous, place. Along Braken Ridge, among the rocks, grow tufts of grass that cling to the chalky soil. The mountains form beautiful valleys and peaks that can be admired from above. The ridge feels very open, and when the day is filled with clear skies makes a perfect place to go to be alone.

Located just out of the Land of Gods, the Devils Springs sound exactly as their name portrays. Hot and clammy, this is one place that no one would want to be in the spring and summer months. The springs are pools of water surrounded by flats of salt, the the water being so hot that the salt had been pushed to the sides. In the winter months, however, one might have to fight to get into one of the small pools of water

Sandbar Isles are a group of small islands, sometimes no more than a few meters across, make of a reddish brown dirt. The dirt and its surrounding water produce lush bundles of grass that are sweet and rarely dry up. The water is shallow and slow moving in parts, but in others it is deep and moves quite quickly. Marine predators live near these isles, but if you can stay away from the deep water no harm will befall you.

Herdlands

The northern herdland of Cavallo, Tyrus is made up of rolling hills and pine forests. One of its borders runs alongside the ocean, and sea birds are often seen frolicking in the wind. The grass in plentiful and emerald green, and in the summer months it rarely rains. Tyrus is often quite cold, and the winter is a very harsh month where snow almost always covers the ground. The land of Tyrus is not for the weak of heart nor the thin coated. A circle of stones can be found on a hill overlooking the ocean; it is said that this is the heart and soul of their land, the centre of their magic and power.

Found on the Eastern coast of Cavallo, Candor is mostly flat. It has many beaches and is the most tropical place in Cavallo. A bit farther inland large bushes begin to appear, along with jungle trees. Candor is mostly a fair weather land, although in the winter rainstorms can occur. Near the southern end of Candor is a shipwreck, found just off the shore. Many treasures can be found within, and it is said that at night the ghosts of the horses who died wander the shores.

Made of valleys and mountains, covered in moss and short grass, Zyra makes up the southern end of Cavallo. With the occasional forest and lake, this herdland is mostly wide open plains and hills. Fog often lies in the valleys during the morning, but is always burnt off by the afternoon. In the centre of Zyra, in its deepest valley, is a lake of fresh water. This lake is said to feed the land around it. It has been used in rites of passage ever since it has been discovered.

The Western herd land, Kriel starts as rolling hills that reach higher and higher until they plateau. Short stumpy grass and large, bleached white rocks and common sights in the landscape. Areas of Kriel are dotted with coniferous forests. The weather is usually fair and sunny, but can dip quite low during the night. On the western side of Kriel stands a huge tree, with a trunk more than ten horse lengths around. It is said that the tree was how the the gods and goddesses came down to punish and give rewards.
